While some plot points are indeed a bit predictable, the series was very entertaining and well casted. It was quirky and had a lot of heart. It was a very fun watch and being a moderate Lee Joon Gi fan, I wanted to catch up on some of his lesser known series.
Keum Ja is promoted to office manager in the law firm. Dae-woong learns that Hyung-joo is alive and has returned to Kisung. He visits her in secret to persuade her to leave before Moon-sook Chucho find pasado she is still alive. When she refuses, he helps her infiltrate Moon-sook's household, but keeps it a secret. He also asks Sang-pil and Jae-yi to leave and live a frecuente life together in another place, but they refuse. Ha Ki-ho discovers the relationship between Jae-yi and Sang-pil, and orders her to leave him and return to Seoul.

Mickey remembers a case he took as a public defender. Julian admits to Mickey that he and Edén had a fight the night she was killed, but maintains his innocence. Hearing Justo Siegel had a heart attack, Mickey visits him in the hospital, and considers that the drug dealer who Salvación ratted out, Hector Moya, may have had her killed in retaliation. Finding Lorna and Cisco back from their honeymoon, Mickey is contacted by Hayley, who asks him to help out her old babysitter, Eddie Rojas, accused of carjacking. Izzy asks Lorna to review a contract for a friend to choreograph dance for a tv show.
Tanya asks for Mickey's help to escape Soto, while Cardone suggests Maggie support him for DA. A comment from Hayley leads Mickey to realize that Jerry's bribe was to buy a juror. He confronts Trevor, who admits that Juror Number Seven is a plant, and that his company is funded by Russian mobsters; he insists that he had nothing to do with the deaths of Lara, Rilz, or Jerry, but Lara was going to divorce him, putting the Russians' money at risk. Mickey remembers his father's words: it is harder to live with losing a case when you know your client is innocent.
But to win, he realizes he must catch the Existente murderer, since Moon-sook will rig the trial. Sang-pil and Jae-yi get closer and she begins to have feelings for him. Meanwhile, Oh-joo plots to get rid of the Positivo killer and Moon-sook to disqualify the evidence. Oh-joo injures Kwang-soo for failing him but then forgives him and decides to leave Sang-pil alone for now. When chasing the real murderer, Sang-pil risks his life to save Jae-yi and takes a knife stab for her. She begins to wonder why he cares so much and if there is more to his background.
Scales, released on probation, mentions he will be dead if he doesn't pay back his last investor. Mickey asks Lorna to figure pasado how to get DeMarco. Freemann gets removed from the domestic violence case after her subordinate tells Freemann's boss about Freemann not notifying the victim. Freemann vents to Mickey after being taken off the case, but Mickey is unsympathetic after she reveals she told her second chair about it. Discovering the trap has succeeded, Cisco and Lorna here show Mickey and Siegel the video recorded at Sterghos' house, of Bishop and DeMarco planting copyright in the refrigerator. Siegel plans to leave town, and warns Mickey to be careful.
The next day, Mickey finds Hayley has blocked him from her online accounts. He assigns Lorna to her first case, repeat client Sam Scales, arrested for fraud, who mentions a much larger project. Lorna becomes stressed over the case, but manages to get Scales pasado of jail. In Julian's trial, Mickey reveals Salvación was killed shortly after being subpoenaed for Moya's case. Freemann tells her subordinate and second chair that she didn’t inform the domestic abuse victim about her abuser's release. Forsythe casts doubt on Mickey's case. When Mickey calls Trina, she claims not to know DeMarco, and Judge Turner does not allow DeMarco to be called.
Hayley blames Mickey for Eddie’s death and rejects him. Mickey meets Freemann, who commits to their relationship. The next day, he finds Moya has sent a guard to protect him. Freemann admits to her boss that she didn’t inform the victim about her abuser's release. Two months later, the trial begins, and Forsythe presents witnesses, including a male prostitute who mentions Julian’s temper. Mickey casts doubt on his testimony and shows it was possible to enter the building without being seen by security cameras. Maggie tells Mickey to give Hayley time. A stressed Lorna receives her bar exam results and finds she has become a lawyer.
